It looks like they did well in selecting which stories to include. Every classic story is the first appearance except for the choice for the Cybermen set, but it's understandable why they couldn't include The Tenth Planet. They did choose an excellent substitute, though. Either Tomb or The Invasion would have been excellent choices, but Tomb works better as an introductory story to a new fan. :techman:

I would have gone with the episode Dalek as opposed to Asylum of the Daleks, if for no other reason than for Eccleston to get representation.

seems like a strange marketing strategy: here are some episodes you already own if you buy the season sets, and we'll include a classic serial too, which if you're a fan of classic who you probably already own too!

A small box set with every story featuring that monster seems like it would be far more interesting and hit far more people with far more content that they may already not own/be familiar with.

:: shrug ::

They're not aimed at the fan market, for for the Granny market, as in :"Oh, what should I get for little Tommy's birthday? He loves Doctor Who, doesn't he, what's his favourite monster?"

Many semi-hardcore fans might not want to spend as much money as season boxsets cost (or individual stories :eek:). Trek had some themed sets too, but had more episodes than these, dunno how they sold.
