BBC Three comedy, Clone

BBC Press Office have just put up a press release of a new commission, Clone.

A new 'team written' comedy series created by Adam Chase, best known for his writing and executive producing roles on Friends, has been commissioned for BBC Three.

Clone opens with a brilliant scientist unveiling the result of his life's work: the first human clone. Intended to be a prototype super soldier who will eventually replace Britain's volunteer army, the Doctor quickly realizes his super weapon is more likely to hug someone than shoot them.
Clone is a classic 'fish out of water' comedy revolving around the education of an innocent being who is seeing and experiencing our world for the first time. It could also be described as a 'buddy comedy' about a modern Dr Frankenstein and his monster.
Another Sci-fi-ish show on BBC Three. It sounds like it could go either way, but at least it's a more interesting idea that most shows on BBC Three over the last few years.

I enjoyed the series of pilots they did recently. At least they're commissioning new stuff. Since I never watch the endless repeats on there, it's important to keep checking the schedules for the occasional gem.

Yeah, I've enjoyed all of the pilots that have been on so far. And Dis/Connected, the one that was postponed, is on Monday night.
As you said, they do have the occasional gem, but they seem to be trying more just lately too.

I know this is the second thread I've resurrected, but BBC Just put out the press pack for the series.

Introduction

To a massed audience of military and secret service hierarchy in a bunker buried deep below a Tesco Metro, brilliant scientist Dr Victor Blenkinsop unveils the result of his life's work: the first human clone.

Intended to be a prototype super soldier who will eventually replace Britain's volunteer army, Victor discovers – to both his horror and distaste – that his new super weapon is not quite the awe-inspiring creation he expected. In fact, the clone is more likely to hug someone than shoot them.

Clone, BBC Three's new fish-out-of-water comedy, revolves around the education of an innocent being who is seeing and experiencing the world for the first time, and stars Jonathan Pryce, Mark Gatiss and Stuart McLoughlin.

Together with his cold-hearted creator, Victor, this modern-day Dr Frankenstein and his monster go on the run hoping to find the neurological trigger that will fix the clone and unlock his superhuman abilities. Unfortunately, they must also avoid Colonel Black and his crack team of security agents – whose mission is to find them and kill them.

Well Jonathan Pryce and Mark Gatiss give me some hope for the series.

The words "Sci-Fi", "Comedy", and "BBC3" in the same sentence make me want to run away in terror

Anyone else watching it? Seems far too broad for my tastes. I guess it's pretty much what you'd expect of a BBC Three comedy. Disappointing considering some of the cast.
