Tomorrow night the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing a live concert in Salford, presented by Mark Kermode, where they will be celebrating iconic movie music from throughout the years. The concert itself is sold out, but it can be heard live on BBC Radio 3 from 7.30pm - 10.00pm.
The programme runs as follows...
What's odd though, is that I found out about this concert from a news item on the BBC's North West Tonight, where Kermode and the musicians were talking about the Indiana Jones theme, and the theme from the Star Trek TNG movies, both of which are absent from the schedule. Also, Mark Kermode was talking about him playing a harmonica piece from Midnight Cowboy (his favourite score, apparently), but that also doesn't feature on the schedule.
Looks like those of us stuck listening to it on the radio aren't getting the full shebang.
