The BBC released their Autumn season press release, there looks to be some interesting shows coming up

Press Release

This autumn the BBC reveals an unparalleled line-up of drama across four channels that will have something for audiences of all ages and tastes to enjoy.

Across the coming months there are more than 70 hours of brand new drama sitting alongside many returning favourites.

On BBC One we have the hotly anticipated magical drama of Merlin alongside new nine o'clock pieces such as Apparitions starring Martin Shaw, Wallander featuring Kenneth Branagh and a remake of the classic Seventies series Survivors.

There will also be stunning new interpretations of Tess Of The D'Urbervilles and Little Dorritt.

Elsewhere we see the return of Heroes (series 3) to BBC Two alongside powerful single dramas God On Trial and A Number. In addition Einstein & Eddington stars the ever popular David Tennant in a very different and powerful role.

On BBC Three and BBC Four there is also plenty for audiences to enjoy.
Heroes, Apparitions, Spooks and Merlin are all shows I'll be watching. I'll also check out Einstein & Eddington.

There's also a trailer for Merlin on the website.

The BBC really have a thing for Charles Dickens at the moment. First Bleak House, then last year Oliver Twist, and now Little Dorrit. It appears this is going to be an annual event until either they run out of material, or everybody is sick to death of Dickens!;)

I'll check out Merlin, and I love Heroes. And as always, QI is the best thing on TV every autumn.:techman:

I'm looking forward to God on Trial quite a lot, I've heard nothing but good things, and Merlin seems interesting, if a tad Harry Potter. At least it has Tony Head :D

I will be watching Top Gear QI and James may big ideas.
Not sure about merlin might watch the first episode also will give Simon Schama a go.

Just Spooks for me...Only other BBC shows I watch weekly is MOTD & HIGNFY

I dont think we will, more likely to be 2009

Your both probably right....oh well, but on a brighter note my Brother just gave me rips of all his HD-DVD movies(I did warm him before he bought it:lol:), so i have a nice collection of 5 gig HD movies sitting on my PS3 to tide me over, just watched Casino Royale, hated the movie when it was released, loved every bit of it tonight.......amazing what HD can do for a movie.:)

Is Merlin going to be like that cheap arsed video blue screen effects shitfest that Sam Neil did?

If so, count me out.

Looks pretty good!

When does it start? I HATE how the BBC don't release premiere dates until the show is right on top of you!!!!

well like you I dont know however its going to be saturday evening, so im guessing 20th or 27th of September.

None of our networks seem to give out firm premiere dates until about 2 weeks before, I think it's in case something happens that might mean they have to pre-empt them, or they decide for some reason they'd rather have more episodes, or it'd fit in better with a different season of programming they're planning.

I'm still annoyed we got no Hustle yet.:(

I thought Hustle had been cancelled? I must admit I didn't like the last series as much. Danny Blue in charge was a stretch, I missed Adrian Lester, and the new guy they got in was a terrible actor!

Looking forward to Spooks, and Survivors and reckon I'll give Merlin a go.
