BBC 1 9 pm tonight HIGNFY

Oh that's entirely possible but a train wreck is as entertaining as a tour de force.

Shatner's HIGNFY was fucking brilliant!

I'll have to record the extended repeat - he even did the Sex Pistols version of God Save The Queen...

He was very dry, although I'm not sure that applies to his liquid intake before filming. He seemed a little merry and not entirely sure of what was going on some of the time.

At least he managed to get one "fuck" in, albeit bleeped out.

Rocket Man was funny. Good to see he's still not afraid of sending himself up. Would've liked a bit of Common People though. That would've been hilarious.

I found his rendition of "O Canada" moving - I also saved money on Ex-Lax.
The Shat is just fine in small doses, but I don't want a repeat prescription too soon.

It was curiously low key. He was entertaining in that edgy way when you expect it all to go horribly wrong any second. Charllie Brooker didn't open his mouth once, the regulars barely said more than answering the questions. I think I'll watch the long cut to see if we missed anything interesting.

Charlie Brooker did correct him on his pronunciation of Snooker and a couple of other things but yeah, it seemed strangely pared down.

I thought it was hilarious. I still haven't decided if it was Brilliant or So Bad It's Brilliant. But either way I enjoyed it. And I think Shatner enjoyed himself and the panel seemed to enjoy having him.

Charlie Brooker has gotten so skinny. All that running with his I-phone app, that he's been taking about. He was indeed low-key (though I liked the 'funts' joke); I wondered if part of it might be down to being in awe of The Shat.
