Battlefield 3

Anybody have it? I got it and it is pretty good. So far I have only played the single player campaign, but the story is good and the gameplay is tight.

Their are only a few problems such as coming to a door and your teammates run through it, but you have to wait until one comes back and opens it for you.

It does create a real since of being in combat. Overall it is a great game.

There's a single player? How quaint!

Anyway, here is my profile in Battlelog for anyone else playing multi. I think Damavand Peak is my favorite map so far but Tehran Highway is a close second, it's gorgeous.

The SP was horrendous... it really was.

And of course, the PC activation servers are down for a few days... whee.

Anyhoo, I'm firehawk1234 on Battlelog. Not sure when I'll actually be able to get on though. :p

Traditionally I can't stand the BF series, but still, someone bought me this as a gift so I thought I'd give it a try. Still can't stand it.

On the bright side, I got it for free, and I'll be able to trade it off for Uncharted 3 next week. Hurrah.

Personally, I love it. With the exception of the first Bad Company, this is the first Battlefield game I've played. Having said that, I don't bother with online play. Doesn't interest me. But I really liked the SP. Thought it was easily the best since the original MW. Presentation, graphics, everything for me was top notch. Miles ahead of Black Ops which was way overrated.

MW3 looks good. I have it reserved and am anxious to get hold of it, but if I enjoy it anywhere near as much, I'll be surprised.

I dont play online because it is not fun for me. I love SP play and BF3 is great. I especially love the tank level. Being a former Army tanker it brought back memories.

Too bad so many people here aren't in to the multiplayer... that's where the Battlefield series really shines and this game is no exception.

Single Player is alright (just done jet mission) but its nothing groundbreaking. Done 1 co-op mission so far and wasn't overly impressed seems so tacked on. However online is pretty decent so far though the damage tanks, APC's etc can take is too much and unbalances games quick. My clan has our own server called "Team DiGital" but with rCon not up yet we cannot add reserve slots so hard to get on the dam thing.

Sticking to Infantry only though the game needs a few patches.

I'm sticking with Bad Company 2, I didn't quite like the Battlefield 3 beta, because the graphics were the same as BF BC2, the hit system was all wrong, and the gameplay felt clunky. I'm Integral913 (PS3 username), by the way, and I personally think Battlefield 3 has flopped.

Sure over the next two weeks everyone (Bad Company 2 players) will be on the Battlefield 3 servers, but they'll come crawling back to BF BC2. I've had some very weird games with a third of the usual numbers of people on BF BC2, but things will pick up.

Maybe on console but on PC, there is very little in common with the looks, Battlefield 3 looks amazing on the PC version. The hit reg for the beta was client side but moved back to server side for the game though I guess with the console it always remains client side.

Watched an online walkthrough of the Sp campaign. Amazingly staged story, even though it was the usual paint-by-the-numbers plot. (kill big fucking WMD, kill Terrorist Boss).
The Graphics are shockingly realistic.

Unfortunately for Dice, I won't be buying this game, though. Origin HAS to be opposed.

I really enjoyed the single player story, and on ultra setting's the game looks amzing......never touched online though as i had no intrest in it.

I've actually heard that there is quite a disparity between BF3 on PC and BF3 on the consoles. Not exactly surprising since the BF franchise has traditionally been a PC centric franchise (the Bad Company games being the exceptions)

Damn, my computer is barely above the minimum requirements. It feels like just yesterday I was on the cutting edge crushing the recommended.

Anyway, I played the original game and loved the hell out of it. That was enough for me. I'm not paying $70 for some fancier graphics.

Anyone else feel there are too many headshots in BF3? there is a MASSIVE error in the size of the headbox compared to your actual head size. Headshots were once rare things but now 50%-60% of my deaths come from headshots and I myself get a lot of kills from headshots especially when your really close to someone spraying with no real aim.

It also doesn't help with the amount of aimbots, our Clan server boots many people per day with PB bans via aim bot usage.

Has anyone tried running BF3 on WinXP? I haven't had the opportunity to upgrade to W7 yet and, from what I understand, it's required. Yeah, I know...I'm just lazy. Simply curious if it will work.
