Watching this ep now, and I'm thinking, why didn't the Ennis or Nol'ennis think of burying their captured opponents? Fate worse than death and final victory.

Ouch! It could have made an interesting subplot.

Weren't the fights out in the open to the point where there was no captured opponents?

I want to know why they didn't think to cut their enemies up into little pieces and keep them in separate sealed boxes. Let's see them repair THAT damage!

It's spelled oxen. Haven't you played Oregon Trail?

Obviously he means, why didn't they feed their captured opponents to oxen?

Couldn’t they just chop off each other’s heads or torch their bodies into ash? These guys need a lesson on killing.

This planet was essentially playing paintball for all eternity!

They tried that. Fully healed and armed soldiers would just step right out the backside as if from a long dark tunnel. Not so much fun for either the soldiers or the ox.

You know this is one of the few episodes of DSN, I've only seen 2 or 3 times. Not one of my favourite episodes.

Yeah, it was a fairly transparent attempt to have Kai Opaka fall on her sword nobly so pave the way for Winn's rise to power.

On one hand it's a pity, because I liked the Opaka character, on the other Winn was such a delightfully wicked antagonist. Though it was nice Opaka showed up regularly in flashback.

Actually, at the time they hadn't thought of that and were planning on Bariel becoming the next Kai until they realised how boring it would be if everyone was buddy buddy.

I don't remember her popping up more than once, maybe twice after they killed her.
