I'm not entirely discounting the possibility that the Giants did this on purpose, as a way of distancing themselves from Bonds...

At the time, I was really thrilled to watch Bonds play and the things he was able to do. Now, after seeing my team win 2 world series in 3 years, I'm glad they removed it. They don't need to sell Bonds anymore, no matter how small. Selling two world champions with players who we don't know have taken steroids or not is much better.
The sign theft is an homage to his steroid shrunken testicles. Where once there was something big hanging there, now there's just a void.
I wonder if Barry Bonds liked his steroid cocktails shaken and not stirred?
Maybe they'll get around to replacing it once Bonds gets into Cooperstown... oh wait...
