When I first watched DS9 I really disliked Jadzia Dax. Then I started rewatching and I actually found her really enjoyable, and a nice addition to the show. I realised this was because I wasnt really watching any Jadzia episodes!
Its the same with Geordi and Troi from TNG, with Worf on DS9, and with Tom from VOY. I tend to not enjoy their main episodes, but as characters in the background of other peoples stories I really value their inclusion, and think they bring a lot to the story.
I was wondering if anyone else found this, and, if so, who is your favourite main/background character?
