“Actually, I can play the guitar,” Marty said. He hoped that his skills were up to the job. His future, no, his existence depended on it!
“Can you?” Marvin asked with a doubtful look. Obviously Marty had not spoken with confidence.
“Absolutely, I can fill in for you!” Marty said, this time with confidence. The saying that Doc, back in 1985, had instilled in him, ‘If you can put your mind to it, you can achieve anything’, was going though his mind.
“Excellent; the dance is back on, let’s get to it!” Marvin said. He and the rest of the Starlighters then left to go back into the hall. As he followed them, Marty took another look at the photo. Linda had completely faded, and now he was fading as well! He hoped that he would play well enough for the romantic atmosphere required for George to kiss Lorraine…
