Back To The Future: 2015?

Just had a funny thought: If they're worried about casting, they should come here. I mean, this board does have a member named Flux_Capacitor... ;)

I love the original trilogy and think it is one of the best of all time (along with Indiana Jones) and don't think anyone could replace/surpass Fox and Lloyd but I would love any additional BTTF material.

I like the idea of Doc's nephew or a Marty McFly Jr. I think they should be able to get a "body" Marty Jr. (ala Darth Vader's Prost) and do some (minor) X-Men 3 de-aging on Fox for the face, and have Fox do the voice. Even if it isn't as great as the original it would probably still be awesome with the original crew/cast involved. And after all that, the originals works are still great and wouldn't change (just no monkey's or refrigerators from either the original BTTF script or IJ4 please).

Also, I am interested in the animated series. If anyone has a link to or copy of those two seasons, let me know. I remember them only vaguely but would love to watch them again (bittorrent has been no help). The only scene i remember clearly is Jules and Verne getting stuck in the past and having to make a bunch of batteries from some lemons to get 1.21 jigawatts. It was awesome.

Speaking of BTTF 2015, after having it on preorder for 10 months, and after numerous delays, today I FINALLY recieved my Marty McFly BTTF2 replica hat!

2015 has come six years early! Now I'm gonna start wearing my jeans inside out. I just need some Nike Power Lace trainers and a size adjustable, self drying jacket now.

Ethros, I have major respect (and envy) for that BTTF hat!! I scored one in Quebec city in 1991 and promptly lost it. Grrr...

You'll be hard pressed to find a bigger BTTF fan than myself. I have all the films committed to memory and can recite them on request.

But there's no need of any continuation. The plot threads are all tied up, the actors have aged and the abomination of the animated series [which I have labeled on VHS as "only for the rainiest of days"*] should serve as a reminder that it shouldn't be continued.

Having said that, I'm sure there will be a remake in our lifetime. But there won't be a BTTF4 from the MJF/Chris Llyod canon.

* = there has never been a rainy day wet enough to rewatch that garbage. The intros from Doc Brown are okay, though.

I'm planning to watch BTTF2 on October 21 2015, which is the data that Doc, Marty and Jennifer arrive on to "Do somethinga about his kids".

Somehow I doubt anyone will be using Faxes in 2015 (we barely use them now!).

Quite... BTTF suffers from a romanticized, idealized, and (in BTTF 2's case) thoroughly nauseating view of the future. It's not BTTF's fault, really, although I would think that if they made it today, our view of, say, 2045 would be more realistic than its conception of 2015. Flying cars, for example, are out; I doubt we'll have them by *2115*, let alone 2015.

Well, Zemeckis had no plans to do a sequel when he made the first movie (the "to be continued" tease was added for home-video release) and has said that if he planned to do a sequel he wouldn't of had the set-up at the end of the first movie, and he certainly wouldn't of put Jennifer in the car.

So since he was "stuck" doing the second movie in the future he just went silly with it.
