Auto legend Carroll Shelby, father of Cobra, dies

Anyway, Carroll Shelby was The American Dream personified, before he became a racing and automobile legend, he was a was a farmer, dump truck driver and a WWII flight instructor.
Beyond his automotive accomplishments, he was also a co-founder of the International Chili Society, and even marketed his own brand of chili powder, which was later sold to Kraft.
In the 90s, after his own heart transplant, he founded the Carroll Shelby Heart Fund, to help finance organ transplants for children, and The Carroll Shelby Foundation.

The Mustang Shelby GT 350 and 500 and 500KR
The Dodge Omni GLH
The Dodge Viper
and about a dozen more of the most recognizable automobiles ever made.
Carroll Shelby the Man will be missed by many, but Carroll Shelby the legend will not die so long as cars with his name still exist.
