Author poll-The Wayback Era

Heinlein from this list... even though I have admittedly only read Starship Troopers and The Cat Who Walks Through Walls.
From this list, probably Bradbury. But, as a kid, I thought Harry Harrison was "the man."
He actually crossed my mind-but I had to cry, "Hold! Enough!" at some point... and I consider Leiber more fantasy than scifi...
I own everything he wrote as far as I know.
Love 'em all...but if we are going REALLY old guard...Orwell, Wells, Vern and Burroughs.
I'm really not qualified to vote, since I have not read many of those authors.

I made some choices, but really could have just checked off every name on the list. Maybe not "Doc" Smith so much...
Gotta show love for the really old skewl space opera, Polaris.
I think that's why he's not one of my favorites, though - he's really a precursor to even the oldest of the other authors on the list, not really "Golden Age" himself. His stories weren't even widely available in print when I was growing up.
Heinlein with Asimov a close second.
