Aussies: Top Gear Moves To Ch 9

I only saw the first episode of Aussie Top Gear - I liked Charlie Cox (he's always good - and does great commentary for MotoGP) but the other blokes were pretty crap. Did it get any better?

Shane Warne is also considering to be a host of the Australian version. Well the rumor is. Also the Top gear magazine is published by PBL, who own channel 9,

Uhhh, I think it also means BBC TG is going to 9 as well, that's what's shitting me.

What if Clarkson come on and says "Oh, the new Vauxhall Monaro is a shitbox!"? Will that segment be 'cut for time'?

And 9 will put all sorts of shitty ads through it.

Gaaaaahh! I can't believe how angry I am about this! I NEVER watch 9!

The commercial channels are pretty lax when it comes to swearing. The News they don't bother unless its a "fuck" or worse but it seems that any swearing during ACA or Today Tonight gets bleeped. After that in the 7 - 8:30 they don't bother with anything under "fuck" again.

Anyone know what the running time for the English version is? Something tells me that channel nein will be snipping it to fit the timeslot while allowing the increasing number of ads and promos the tv networks are running (something Media Watch has raised in rescent weeks).

But obviiously the commerical networks have noticed that they losing a big chunk of their ratings on monday night to SBS and could afford to outbid SBS for the rights.

The fact that PBL had the print rights to the magizine shouldn't even be mentioned - it's totally seperate opperation (one's print, one's tv broadcaset).

What I meant was not so much cutting the swearing as cutting something an advertiser might not like.
