In Sage you can mark all or individual topics as read or unread with a single click.

I use RSS as a tool for my writing. I use articles from blogs either as inspiration for writing a new article, or as citations for one I'm writing on. I also follow a lot of blogging and writing blogs to learn as I go. I've always used Google Reader since it integrates well with other Google apps.

I review it and clean out the entries every day. I also have mobile versions on my phone so I can get some work done while I'm away from my computer. It's great to be able to squeeze in some research while I'm waiting at a restaurant.
