Astronomy & Anti-Matter

After reading the first article I had images of the anti-earth from Jimmy Neutron... creepy...

There's lots of matter even in empty space (dust, gas, etc.)

Anything coming through this galaxy is going to flare long before it gets anywhere near us....

What about mirror matter and mirror anti-matter? Ie, the parity-reversed counterparts of both matter and anti-matter that is implied by the behaviour of the weak interaction.

Tachyon Shield -- I believe you may thinking of the proposal that mirror matter is a candidate for dark matter. Robert L Forward confused matters by incorrectly referring to anti-matter as mirror matter.

Not really, because that dust and gas is very, very diffuse -- isolated atoms with huge amounts of emptiness between them. Any antimatter body moving through the interstellar medium would just suffer a small amount of surface erosion.
