Artemis II Live Feed En Route to the Moon!

The lunar landing may be delayed until the 2030s if they can't perfect the new space suits.

For the love of god, I hope they don't skimp and cut corners in order to keep the current mission schedule.

It's kind of .. no it's really extremely sad NASA has been working on some kind of Lunar suit since the early 2000's and still isn't anywhere.

You can see them wave to President Obama in prototypes of them in 2009 at Obama's first inauguration. Riding the lunar rover we're also never going to get.

Seconded

So both parties have anti-space idiots.

SLS and Orion are ready, but the billionaire boys club isn’t.

NewSpace hype exposed

But Ears Issacman dismantled the SLS Block 1B/Block 2 infrastructure. He flew on Elon’s little capsule—so conflict of interest right there.

No Antares on the list? Hmm.

Something else to bear in mind: LNG doesn’t like to be sloshed:

Hydrogen doesn’t either, which is why Shuttle RTLS aborts were dreaded.

But SLS has an escape tower, and it has a steady trajectory. It and shuttle ETs would be perfect for wet workshops.

But here is the capper.

In order to be reused, the methalox first stages of both Elon and Bezos HAVE to do some rather violent maneuvers….especially SuperHeavy that last go around.

RTLS for every SuperHeavy recovery.

Falcon is rather narrow, and it can travel out to sea on a barge.

New Glenn’s first stage can too. It has fins like Starship, but legs like Falcon.

VTOHL type TSTOs can just glide back and don’t have to re-light or do boostback.

That likely would extend engine life.

But winged spaceflight has taken a hit lately—and carny barker Branson didn’t help.

That explosion looked like a nuclear mushroom cloud. All the video angles I've seen are terrifying.
If starship blows up on the pad it has the yield mor or less of a Hiroshima typef nuke (16kt). New Glenn supposedly had a 1kt yield so about 3 30 MOABs
