Artemis II Live Feed En Route to the Moon!

When they were showing that shot from the solar panel cam shortly before atmosphere entry, there were these rainbow-colored vertical streaks seeming to move down the image, and I thought, "Wait a sec, are they at warp?"

Watching the splashdown was very nostalgic. There have been all these experiments with reusable rockets that can make computer-controlled landings back where they took off, but the 50- or 60-year-old method still works.

It's amusing that all the advanced space-travel tech worked perfectly, and the only things that went wrong were the toilet and the satellite phone, which you'd think would be the easy things to get right.

there are probley alternate earths in the multiverse where the space missions to the moon never stopped

A good take on Artemis

It cost taxpayers less than a penny per tax dollar. There is a little troll named Nate that called Alabama “selfish” over SLS…but has no problem giving my space tax dollars to near Trillionaires.

That Ayn Rand-garbage needs to end. By the bye—she died on public assistance she would have denied others.

I had this ready to post as soon as the crew of Artemis II safely returned. But when it seemed forever the main parachutes took to deploy, I had a sickening feeling I might have to rework it to serve as a memorial! :weep: What a couple of "white knuckle" minutes those were! Thankfully, they DID deploy and finally open (expand? unfurl?) resulting in a safe splashdown!
