Are you going to buy the flash drive? (If so, WHERE?!?)

http://www.trektoday.com/content/2009/10/star-trek-xi-on-flash-drive/

I especially like the part about being able to burn the movie to DVD from the drive, but I'm not so excited about the idea of having to register devices being used to play the movie, or the fact that no price was mentioned. I also wish something had been said about WHERE you'll be able to buy one.
If you follow the source link at the bottom to OhGizmo.com, you'll see it's available (exclusively?) from Play.com in the UK for £17.99 (according to the OhGizmo article, that's $28 U.S., which seems to be about right.)

Hmmm...

I hadn't thought about the special features maybe not being there.

I did already order the DVD from Amazon a few months ago...

Nice toy I guess, but most likely a window shopping item, not an actual purchase.

That thing is humongous for a USB stick. Not to mention the fact that I surely won't register a device to play a divx movie (preposterous). So I'll pass.

That article had a link to order it:

Personally, I'm not interested. Especially since it likely won't have any of the special features. I'm sticking with the standard BD and the Amazon.com ship BD.

By "Amazon.com ship BD" do you mean a version of the BD with the 1701 model ? My local DVD store only has listed the Limited Edition DVD with Enterprise model, or an ultimate edition BD (no ship model included) in addition to the 'regular' special edition DVD. I was going to get the ultimate edition BD.

Could you perhaps post a link to this BD if it does indeed include the ship?

I am not interested. As others have said, I shall not buy any movie which will only let me play on a few "registered" devices.
It has been said that Trekkies will buy anything with the name Star Trek on it. Time will tell.
