Are we still "Watching DS9?"

I bought the DVD boxsets as they were inititally released however many years ago. I rewatched my fave episodes on the commute to Edinburgh a couple of years ago when I used to work there. I'm thinking I should watch it again soon, but in the meantime I'm getting the relaunch novels upon release and watching those to get my fix.

I thought we were. Jonz was leading it, right, but he said he had to slow it down this week or something?

Sorry guys,

Fell a little behind been a little busy lately, but "Q-less" is going up very soon.

Will try and keep up with two episodes a week (seemed like a good compromise)

Besides "Q-less" which I watched last year when it was released as part of the Q Fan Collective DVD set, I have not watched a single DS9 episode since January 2004 when I sold-off seasons 1-5 of DS9 on DVD (I Netflixed seasons 6-7). Great series, though. :borg:

Please do not post threads with no discussion beyond the subject line. On this board, that is considered spamming.

In future, post these sorts of inquiries in one of the last episode threads you guys have been posting in. There are sufficient numbers of those for you to find one.

Thanks.

My wife and I are 6 episodes away from the end, having started from the beginning some time back in early 2005. She never watched it which is the reason we're gonig through it all. After that it will be shelved for a while as we catch up on other series.

Soon as the weather closes in I'll be watching the whole series again...from start to finish one episode a day.

My swamp dried up for the second time since the late 70's so I've been super busy...put in a sunken bridge and cut down a bunch of huge ass trees. Too busy to watch the tube...you have to make hay when the sun shines.

I am halfway through season 2 after buying them all in the new slipcases. Because I had season 1 on video I have watched it far more than the others seasons so I figured I would start with 2. Much to my absolute amazement there are episodes on 2 I have never seen... !!!!!!! It's very exciting!! I remember now that when I used to rent the videos the earlier seasons often didn't work, too worn out (and they would not replace them, just put them back on the shelf even if the tape itself was snapped, lol). This is why I've never seen Our Man Bashir which I am looking fwd to very much..

The only season I don't own is the last one....somehow, Amazon doesn't have 'em anymore and the slipcase version hasn't been released yet (at least not here).

But every now and then, I watch an episode or two and make my way through the seasons. It's like coming home.

That is the same story with me.

I liked watching it the first time around, but I cannot get much out of those DS9 episodes rewatching them. Sorry, but that's just the way it is. I prefer "episodic Trek" compared to those arc-based shows.

nope, after watching almost all seasons i have found DS9 hindsight 20/20 to be soap operish at the end and hard to watch again.

Just finished the last episode last night after starting at the beginning of the show back in 2005. For me it would have been the second time all the way through, this time actually watching "Take me out to the Holosuite".

I don't have issues with the arc based premise of the show. I can still jump into an episode and enjoy it. No different than B5 or Doctor Who in that respect.

Although for DS9 it's basically on hiatus in the household for the next while.

Right now, I'm on TNG season 4. I will be wrapping it up next week. After that, it's on to DS9 season 7 for me.

Great series for me. Second best Trek after TOS, of course.
