I really like turn-based strategy games, but whenever I try a sci-fi game, I always just find myself wishing that it was Star Trek instead. Are there any games like that which have been converted to Star Trek?

I do remember trying that some time ago. My vague memory of it is that I was pretty put off by the visual presentation. I hated how it was supposed to be like a "through the generations" type of thing, but all the ship models were just TNG-era. Is that an accurate recollection?
I've been re-discovering BOTF lately. I've been paying the Ultimate Mod 5...mod. It is the first mod I have ever played with the game. I am really enjoying it! The AI isnt great, so no need to give yourself a huge advantage. Within the first 50 turns, Earth was transformed into a Desert Planet. This was a MAJOR hit for my empire. But you know..I'm pulling through.
Beyond that, I've been toying with the idea of getting Sins of a Solar Empire to get the "Star Trek Armada 3" mod. It really does look impressive.

Stellaris is a new 4x game that seems like it was designed specifically to be modded for Star Trek as if the developer wanted to make a Star Trek 4x game but didn't want to pay for the license.
There are already good mods in development. I'm paying attention to Stellaris ST mods.
