Are there any civilian-based sims?

Uherm,

This is not your thread until you don't pay the webspace for it, and even then, there's no reason to have a go at other users in such a flame-like way. Certainly he was trying to help you, took the time to read your thread, think about it and then answer to it in a friendly and precise way. People like you, taking help from other users for granted, really get the hell out of me. Just because you are too faineant to carry out some decent research, that doesn't mean that others have to do that for you. And if they do think about your problem and perhaps even offer extended help (like in this case), then I believe it is the most contumelious and inappropriate response, to verbally lambaste them. Blokes like you don't deserve to be helped, because, as a matter of fact, you don't appreciate the help, so why should one bother?!

Uherm,

And you have no idea of the background between Jason and myself. He was making an ass of himself, as he is often wont to do.

Just because you are too faineant to carry out some decent research, that doesn't mean that others have to do that for you.

Excuse me, but I have done massive research on the topic. Between Google, Usenet, Metacrawler, emailing every Sim Group or Fleet I can find, tracking down old simming partners, finding Sim related forums, Yahoo groups, etc. I have been looking for months, turned up relatively little, and asked a simple question here: "has anyone come across anything I have not?"

And if they do think about your problem and perhaps even offer extended help (like in this case), then I believe it is the most contumelious and inappropriate response, to verbally lambaste them.

Again, see my response two paragraphs above. You have no idea the history between Jason (hellsgate) and myself, and if you look at what he was "offering," it was not in line with my original question. I asked if people knew of any civilian sims out there, he suggested that he help me create one of my own. I turned him down -- calmly, but bluntly. He apparantly got his feelings hurt, then got a little tiffy, and I gave him the dressing down he's sorely needed for years.

Blokes like you don't deserve to be helped, because, as a matter of fact, you don't appreciate the help, so why should one bother?!

And you are taking things totally out of context here, bub. Did you even read the entire thread? I've shown gratitude to everyone that's offered help in this matter. Hellsgate (Jason) is another matter entirely, and I dealt with him fairly and honestly.

Calm down, mate. Your vitriol is unwarranted.

Regardless of personal history with anyone, one can say polite. You know, your post sounded a bit like "Shut your face you damn idiot", and I don't think this is the niveau we want to take the posts here. Basically, you could have just said: "I have said no, and commented to why I said no, so that you have a reasoning. If you think my comments are to lengthy, then just don't read them, or just don't post in my threads."

That's all it would have needed. But, no, you have to make drama out of it.

Basically, that's what I did say to Jason. I'm not sure why the "length" of my comments would come into question, though. And, according to your first post, it isn't "my" thread. Try not to contradict yourself too much.

You're the one who responded to something I wrote to someone else months down the line, when I very much considered the incident closed, and had all but forgotten about this thread. First, I explained myself to Jason, in a way that offended your delicate sensibilities, then I calmly explained myself to you after you basically called me an asshole, and now that seems to have gotten under your skin for reasons I can't begin to fathom. I'm not the one keeping any drama going here.

You seem to be keen on taking things out of context. And by the way, look for the grammatical error in your sig (mis)quote.
