I thought it was pretty good. Probably one of the better comic book movies this year. The story is very Lord of the Rings/Dungeons and Dragons like.

Using green to represent the “evil power” was a interesting choice. In DC that usually represents the Green Lanterns and so it just look like they were Lanterns flying around. Got a bit distracting for me. I also think the brothers got along way too quickly from the start. There was no tension between them at all.
It's a shame this whole Gunn nonsense took out the Affleck Batman scenes. I would have loved to see him again. Still easily the best Batman we've got so far. Hopefully the blu ray has them but I'm not holding my breath.

I liked it also. It was fine, no better or worse than the first one. I agree, having Affleck there would have been great. Or ANY of the JL. It was weird not having any of them in the final scene, at least in the audience.

This was a nice, breeze adventure. I still think Aquaman works better as a supporting character in these films. A little Jason Mamoa goes a long way.

For the last film in the "Synderverse" as it were, it's not a bad way to go out. I just feel like we're watching someone play video games in IMAX sometimes. Pretty rousing Rupert Gregson-Williams score.

according to these 2 link, they said "When you add other costs such as marketing the movie globally, it would have needed to make at least double that just to break even." 3X to be profitable. They are talking about any movie. So is it true? If they break even w/ box office, that the advertising costs another 1x?

for e.g., looking at another super hero movie that tanks:

Marvels budget is $220M, their Gross is almost even at $205M. But if the above 2 link is true, then advertising is $220M, how can that be true?

Good fun. Best DC movie of the year, which, of course, isn't saying much. But still, good follow-up to the first one.

Do you know one of the things I appreciated most? The FX. After Flash I was ready for another disaster.

Max just let us know that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be available Feb 27.

So i guess i will soon be able to contribute to the review thread. in a couple of weeks
That should be the unofficial title of the next phase.

I am titling it the DC Omni-Universe ... or really when you say the abbreviation = D C ...Oh You!

Just watched it. Entertaining and looked good. Not top tier but certainly top half of all comic book movies I’ve seen (it did what it needed to do—keep me entertained while watching). Don’t know why the Affleck scenes needed to be cut, but I can’t be bothered to argue about it. Thus ends the DCEU. It wasn’t perfect but it was willing to take chances other “universes” don’t do as often, and I always appreciated that kind of thing. What I’ll miss most is the DCEU cast. Ah well, c’est la vie.

I've just seen it. I mostly enjoyed it, but was very aware throughout that it was not very good. It kept reminding me that it was not very good and making my enjoyment of it a bit more forced than I'd have liked. The pacing was terrible, skipping over important stuff and taking ages on fluff. They REALLY wanted a Thor/Loki thing, but the chemistry wasn't there. It wasn't as grounded as the first one. I had to sit through 5 minutes of Amber Herd. Blue Beetle was much better.

RIP Snyderverse. I shall miss you, and always wonder what you could have become without constant studio murder attempts on everything from the 3rd film onwards.

I watched it this morning, and I liked it a lot. It was just a lot of fun, with some really cool action scene, and a pretty good story. Jason Momoa is a lot of fun as Arthur, and while I understand this was all in the midst of the whole thing with her and Johnny Depp, I was a disappointed we lost most of Mera's scene, since I liked her a lot in the first one. I loved the designs for Atlantis and the technology and characters, and that continued here too.
