April Challenge -- Ancient Legacies

For this month's Art Challenge, let's come up with something that is old, grungy, tore-up, and none-the-less important to our Starfleet heroes for some reason!

Come up with an illustration (any media) of some object of some sort that:

1) is obviously old and weathered (nothing bright and shiny... it should smell moldy rather than like a new car...),

2) it fits in with the feel of Star Trek...

3) it includes a line or two about how it's the hook of an imagined story-line.

For example:

A pic of the Botany Bay with the caption "Kirk and crew discover an ancient tramp freighter lost in space since the late 1990's"

or, an alien probe sits off the bow of the Enterprise-D with the caption "An ancient probe renders Captian Picard unconscious and he lives out an alien's life in his mind."

or, a pic of the Shroud of the Sword with the caption "Kor arrives with an ancient cloth and takes Worf and Dax on a quest for the Sword of Khaless,"

You get the idea. Good luck!

One question: Is there a requirement for doing an original storyline, or can we replicate a different viewpoint of something already seen?

Hmm... Interesting... I had imagined original story, n
But if you have a cool idea, go for it.

I would stipulate that it should be an Original Thing, but if it ties to an existing story, that's okay.

I look forward to seeing what you have in mind!
