Red shirt bleeding out

Shirts of gold beaming away

Left for dead. Bastards.

CeJay - I actually had planned a complete story about a hapless redshirt who was left behind during a brief but fierce planet-side skirmish with Klingons.

Then I thought, 'What the heck - just cut to the chase.'

The above haiku is dedicated to all the redshirts who assumed room temperature in the line of duty.
