Apple trailers

Am I missing something obvious ?

On the apple trailer site, there is an option to download trailers in HD but absolutely nothing happens - I've tried it on my main machine and on a fresh laptop that was unboxed only a couple of hours ago - is it broken or am I missing something?

Do you need to install quicktime?

The download link launches Quicktime and loads the trailer into that rather than your browser. If you don't have QT installed, it won't work.

I have quicktime on both machines - nothing happens. If it was a single machine, I could understand what the problem might be - but two and one of those a fresh out of the box machine?

Are you sure the new machine has quicktime? Usually quicktime does not come pre-installed. You have to download it.

If you have other CoDec packs installed, some of which may want to play QuickTime files, could interfere with QuickTime itself. I've run into that before. It's an extreme case, but sometimes it happens and some things need to get reinstalled.
