Anyone remember this episode?

Melakon

Admiral
In Memoriam
There was an episode where Enterprise had detained some suspicious type alien, perhaps an Yridian or a smuggler, where Archer and T'Pol scammed him into believing she was some vicious high court judge in order to gain information. I can't remember the title, but it may have been in the first two seasons. Anyone remember?

What prompted this vague memory was a line in TOS: The Doomsday Machine, where Spock tells Decker, "Vulcans never bluff."

Oh never mind. It's "Precious Cargo". I don't want to watch that again, but it is a funny scene. Sorry.

:guffaw: I was worried because it didn't ring a bell, and I thought I knew ALL the episodes! But, this is one ep I barely got through the one time!

Maybe y'all can make a "memorable scenes" list or somesuch with the chapter to jump to, and spare yourselves the rest of an ep you don't want to slog through again.

Because that scene in Precious Cargo with T'Pol as the "judicial administrator," with Archer bowing and scraping and "ma'am"-ing her, is a scream.

I even reviewed it here a few years ago after buying the series set and seeing them all. During the network run, I wasn't able to see most of Season 3 and none of Season 4 due to poor tv reception. My reviews didn't get past Season 2 after getting the disks. I must have burned out because I was watching episodes about 5 times before each review.

Good idea. And based on what you've just said, I'm going to make a point of rewatching the entire episode this weekend. I've found that I can pick out things here and there on subsequent rematches that I didn't see the first time...and since i only gave this episode one shot, I'll try it again.

Malcolm was my favorite character initially, because he was the mystery man. But I wasn't too keen about the Season 4 revelation about him.

Agreed. Malcolm was my favorite character in part because his personality is so similar to mine and I could totally identify with him. I didn't like the S4 arch about his past either. I could buy it that he was in the intelligence field, but it seemed out of character to me , for him to not go straight to Archer from the beginning.

But, then, that would probably mess with the writers' ideas for that storyline.

north star i think it was called
what is the obsession with space cowboys?

im sure there fun
but i just find it truly bizarre these two things being put together.
why not "under water greek philosophers conquer the Marianas trench"
it makes about as much sense to me

It's a bit of a tribute to TOS, which had wacky episodes involving gangsters, Nazis and Romans.
In the case of North Star, it's also interesting to consider what might happen if a group of primitive humans were transplanted to an alien planet.

I am trying to remember which episode it was where the Enterprise used it's shuttle pod grapplers to rip off a Klingon ships engine nacelle.
It's just a real cool scene but I can't recall the context
