Anyone remember Standoff?

There's no crisis situation they can't handle - unless it involves each other. Matt Flannery (Ron Livingston) and Emily Lehman (Rosemarie DeWitt) are the top-ranked negotiators in the FBI's Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU). They're trained to talk their way through volatile situations. They're experts at knowing what makes other people tick. They're also sleeping together - a secret that they agreed to keep to themselves, until Matt revealed it to the entire world during a tense hostage standoff. The public revelation causes friction between Matt, who doesn't take much seriously and relies on gut instinct, and Emily, an academic who analyzes every move. Their relationship also gets them into major trouble with their boss, Cherly Carrera (Gina Torres), head of the Los Angeles CNU, and raises eyebrows among their CNU colleagues, including intelligence officer Lia Mathers (Raquel Alessi). While Matt and Emily should be split up for being romantically involved, they're too valuable as a team. Together, they're among the best in their field; Cheryl knows it, and they know it. Week to week, Matt and Emily tackle much more than hostage crises. The CNU is called in to resolve everything from kidnappings and high-risk suicides to bomb threats, stalking cases and gang violence. The duo also must work in concert with the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), led by irreverent but deadly Frank Perry (Michael Cudlitz) and his wise-cracking cohort Duff (Jose Pablo Cantillo). When Matt and Emily's nonviolent approach doesn't seem to work or takes too long, Frank and his team are ready to use full force. "Standoff" advances a fundamental idea: that in life and in love, "everything is a negotiation."
This show aired in the 2006-2007 season. I'm really sorry I missed it at the time, although knowing that it was only one season going in lessened the sting of brevity, if only a bit. I just finished watching all the episodes on Hulu, and this was a cleverly written and well-acted little show.

So, how did I miss it? :( I had never even heard of it until I found it on Hulu. What network did it air on? Why didn't it do better? I thought it had a good premise and a stellar cast. It was just FUN to watch.

Yeah, the only reason why I remember this was because it was a small boom for new procedural serials. Of course, all of them short quick deaths, but oh well.

Yes, and I'd like to see it in my dvd collection:)

I'm not sure if they ever got round to showing the end of the season here:(

I watched all of the episodes on Hulu generally the week after they aired. It's a really good show. I enjoyed Justice too... but you know how that goes. If it had been on CBS it would probably still be thriving, but nobody watches FOX unless they're watching one of the 85 hours of American Idol every week. ;)

Sorry, not Hulu, but that thing FOX used to have on Myspace that aired shows. My humble apologies.

No, you didn't. Hulu launched in March of this year.
Officially, but it was in beta a good while before that, though. My join date is 1/2/07, and I know it existed before I got in on the beta. Not saying you're wrong about him watching Standoff there - I don't know when they added it to the lineup - but he could have at least watched some show on Hulu during the time Standoff was airing. :)
