with used DVD web sites? Are they worth looking into, or are they a waste of time and money? I don't want to pay the prices places like Amazon and Deep Discount have for a TV season, and I'm leery of eBay (been burned by them before). I don't have any info about which sites would be good/mediocre/take your money and run, so I decided to ask the sage minds here. Only interested in Region 1 DVD sites at the moment - my Samsung blu ray player isn't unlocked for any other regions.

I've had good luck with the sellers on Amazon Marketplace. That might be a good place to look.

Amazon Marketplace usually has a pretty good roundup of used sources. Some of them will have websites linked from their profiles.

Blockbuster right now is clearing out dvds--$3.99/movie this week. Goes down to $1.99/movie on Monday. Course the selection's pretty limited.

We picked up a couple. Not really scratched at all. Just cleaned them with iso-alcohol and water. Pretty much good as new.

Also check your local pawn shops -- the bigger ones, and the For Sale section of your local Craigslist (if CL has one for your city).

Similar to Amazon Marketplace is Half.com.. just be aware that shipping charges add $3 to purchases at either. I've often been able to find the movie new for less than used + shipping.

This site compare dvd prices from numerous retailers: http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/

Never had a problem with Amazon marketplace and I've used it extensively. The product description is usually very good, although sometimes the delivery can be a tad slow.
