Anyone else so busy looking for "easter eggs" they missed important st

uff?

I heard so much about there being "easter eggs" in this movie and "callouts" to previous Treks that I spent most of the movie looking for them! I think I missed some important plot points in some viewings (I've seen it seven times now), for example the first time I saw the mind meld scene I was so busy looking for 24th centuary stuff that I became fixated on the idea that the black Vulcan standing next to Spock in the 24th century (in the council or something) was Tuvok that I kept looking around the cinema excited to see if anyone else had noticed him, but they hadn't.

Also I kept trying to read all the bulkheads and missed Spock and Uhura making out.

Did I get all the easters eggs anyway? I saw: a tribble in a cage (cruel), R2 D2, a bottle of SAURON BRANDY, Uhura's old sixties ear piece thing, the number NCC1701 no the Enterprise, a Noika phone and GREEN BLOOD on Spock's lip!

Please tell us where R2 was (a lot of people want to know) and I personally would like to know when the tribble was shown.

Personally, I can't look for such things at the movies. I'm waiting to get a DVD of the film and figure it all out at home. After many, many viewings. :D

Is the green blood an Easter Egg though? I'd just put it down to continuity.

It bothers me though, the green blood, but red lips, pink tongue and all that. I remember an older friend telling me about watching TOS as a child on a black and white telly imagining Spock to have some silvery green skin, but being disappointed when he saw Spock in colour and had normal white skin.

I can follow the white skin, but why red lips etc?

Yeah me. I was crawling around on the white house lawn with my Easter basket when the movie started, so I kinda missed the whole thing.

That is why these days I prefer just to watch films at home instead of going to the theatre. That way I can use my wonderful remote to slowly playback a battle sequence so I can take in all the choreography of the fights, I can pause and replay a bit of rapid-fire dialog that I might have not caught completely, I can pause a scene and absorb it before proceeding on.

And for shows like Lost with so much detail and one that is so densely plotted with a fast pace I watch it once and just pick up what I can. Then the second time through I make sure that I understood correctly everything from the first viewing and take the time to search for subtle connections or clues as well as searching my memory for anything of significance. When one's senses is being overloaded by a barrage of revelations, exposition, and visual details, it can be a lot to absorb and reflect on. I sometimes find myself coming up with stuff days later after I've given myself time to digest it all and step back and look at the big picture.

Viewing 1: Taking in the whole thing
Viewing 2: Egg hunt!

Ditto! Thanks be to the Great Bird of the Galaxy for 'Pause' and 'Rewind' buttons. I still cannot find R2D2.:alienblush:
I think this movie has persuaded me to buy a Blu-Ray player.
