Haven't tried it, but they do have some pretty impressive online ads.

I played EVE, on and off, over about two years. I came over shortly after the sunset of Earth and Beyond, my first mmorpg, was announced. Like a lot of E&B transplants I ended up in the Celestial Horizons corporation. I stayed with them for a year, then went solo for a year doing both pvp and mission running.
Ultimately I stopped playing because the game just didn't hold my interest anymore. I came back briefly for the faction warfare but that wasn't enough to keep me playing. I still have both of my characters though. One is a T2 Minimatar specialist and the other is a T2 Minimatar that specializes in Amarr ships and weapons. You never know, maybe I'll find a reason to renew my sub one day. There's no question that it's one of the most original mmos ever produced.

I know someone who works for the company - actually, for its subsidiary White Wolf in Georgia. I have a demo of the game but have never tried it out.

So what's going on in EVE these days anyway? Last I checked a lot of people were still dissatisfied with factional warfare. And who is the top dog alliance nowadays? BOB still around? Goons? The Mercenary Coalition?

Wow. So Goons finally overran BOB. By no means am I sorry to see that BOB went down, but I'm not ecstatic about their replacements either. Interesting.
So have you tried the wormhole exploration? Also how big of an impact was the speed nerf and changes to the micro warp drives on pvp overall?

Wormhole exploration is fine though only really adds value w.r.t. mining (fantastic ore in there) and sleeper loot drops (needed for T3 ship construction). Wormhole space is very pretty though!
the MWD nerf is fine - your signature radius skyrockets though you can still reach very high speeds - how much was it nerfed?
Stealth Bombers are still overpowered.

I played EVE Online for awhile about month and half or so. I didnt really care for it. The one thing I liked about it was that you could gain skills while not even playing but that was also a downside in that playing didnt improve your skills just allowed you to make the money to buy what you needed.

Hehe, nice. I had just finished Stealth Bomber training the month that I left. Never even took my Hound into battle. Though I did once decloak it at a pirate camped gate and cause some pilots to warp out.
