Any Ira Levin fans?

Rosemary's Baby, The Stepford Wives, Sliver, the Play and movie Deathtrap, and my personal all time favorite novel This Perfect Day.

so much to discuss; let's have at it....

"The Boys from Brazil" and "Rosemary's Baby" were the only Ira Levin novels I have read, but they were excellent.

It's been a while since I've read him, but I enjoyed his work. I've read the four books you mentioned, but I think that's it. Of those, the standouts for me were This Perfect Day and Rosemary's Baby.

I saw Son of Rosemary in the store the other day, but people don't seem to like it.

Wow, this is a coincidence--I just purchased Rosemary's Baby and Son of Rosemary at the bookstore today.

Anyway, I haven't actually read a single Ira Levin novel--yet. But I have thoroughly enjoyed most of the movies based on his work: A Kiss Before Dying (1956), Rosemary's Baby, Deathtrap, and The Boys from Brazil. I didn't care much for Sliver though.

When I re-watched Rosemary's Baby recently, the special features mentioned that the movie is quite faithful to the book--because Polanski didn't know he was allowed to make changes. :) Anyway, I'm looking forward to finally reading the novel.

I am, definitely--I've read all of his novels and the only one I didn't care for was Sliver. Sure, the climax of This Perfect Day was reminiscent of 70s sci-fi cheese like Future World (truly awful sequel to the solidly awesome West World) but, up until then, it's a really good dystopia for the Age of Est. Rosemary's Baby. The Stepford Wives and The Boys from Brazil were great--I even loved Son of Rosemary.

I didnt care much for Sliver either, but is a good haunted house story.
Or should I say Hunted house....
