Any IMAX viewers?!

I'm seeing it in the IMAX first thing tomorrow morning (yup, 10:00AM across town.. quite a trek). I could have seen it already if I wasn't so hung ho on seeing it in an IMAX theatre... but I figure it may be worth the wait for that kind of surround sound experience. I'll be getting there very early since they say there will be a line outside of the theatre a full 40 minutes before the showing....

Looking forward to it :). Anybody else hold out for IMAX or seen it in an IMAX yet?

The IMAX showing I attended was fantastic re: picture and sound. I have a pretty decent home cinema setup (HD projector, Blu-ray and HD DVD players, nearly 10 grand in whole system if we include audio gear) so I hardly go out to movies anymore. The IMAX presentation, however (unlike stuff at my local multiplex) blows away my set up. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

You're in for a wonderful experience. I saw it in IMAX on Thursday night, and we all came out of the theater smiling.

:)

I saw it on Thursday on Michigan largest IMAX screen and the only Domed IMAX in the state. I found that the image was slightly warped and a little annoying, because the screen was so big, one had to turn their head to follow the action.

Given the glowing response others here are giving, I'm considering going to a traditional IMAX to see the difference.

saw it on imax and it was great.
the images were incredibly sharp and the sound was great.

sit in the last top third for the best seating. the screen just takes up all of your viewing area without having to move your head around.

Yep, saw it at IMAX. I found the action scenes really difficult to follow, but having not seen it at a regular cinema, I don't know if that's an IMAX or general issue.

Well worth seeing in IMAX, especially for the digital soundtrack. Easily an Oscar winner for sound.

I found it difficult to follow at the IMAX too and it was easier at the normal cinema, though I'm not sure if that's because I'd already seen it by that time.

We saw it on Thursday and Friday in IMAX, and I'm going again next week. I wouldn't want to see it any other way. It's big, it's loud; and the movie deserves it.

I saw it in a sold-out theatre that only had seats in the front row left when I got there. Why, oh why, do they even put seats that close to a screen that large? It's a horrible experience to be that close. I easily missed seeing 50% of the movie. Most of the action scenes were nothing but blurs.

Saw it first on the regular screen and then on IMAX. I'm glad to be honest. We were slightly off-centre for the the IMAX viewing which made things a little hard to see.

Also, there was a tiny hole in the screen, which I imagine is hard to fix when the screen is 8 stories high. Tried my best to ignore it, but it bugged the shit out of me.

Sounded great though!
