Any essential ENT episodes beofre Choice of Futures?

If you want to refresh your memory regarding some of the people and places that appear in the book, I suppose you might want "Civilization", for introducing a character who will be important here, "Silent Enemy", for setting up the mystery that the novel elaborates on, and perhaps "Bound" for the Orion sisters' history with Enterprise. The first chapter builds on "Detained", but that's just for the opening.

"Silent Enemy" being the most important.

I'm not sure I'd call them essential, but I think it'd be worthwhile to rewatch "Babel One," "United," and "The Aenar", as well as "Demons" and "Terra Prime." Those episodes are very much unintentional prequels to the book, and explore related issues.

When I started reading the Enterprise books it had been 2-3 years since I last watched the series completely through. The good thing about the books is if there is something you can't remember well, you can look it up on Memory Alpha/Beta. I have not had any times where a Enterprise reference really got by me. Now the TOS references sometimes do.

Deranged Nasat's essential episodes list nails it.

True! I've rewatched the series recently but I keep looking up the new aliens. For exmaple, I need to look up the faces of the Orion sisters all the time because I've trouble keeping them apart.

Well, not quite interchangeable, since Maras only has one line in the episode.

Plus Navaar had that hair-twirling affectation that I alluded to a few times.

While I'm sure reading the episodes would be informative, as someone who's only seen season one back when it aired, and not much else besides "In a Mirror Darkly", I was still able to follow both of the Rise of the Federation novels so far well enough. :)

Yeah, I haven't seen much of Enterprise since it was on air and putting out new episodes, and I managed to follow at least A Choice of Futures (haven't read Tower of Babel yet).

Re: Any essential ENT episodes before Choice of Futures?

^Funny, I thought I'd differentiated the sisters' personalities rather clearly.

Sorry, I was being imprecise. In terms of personality, I've no problem seeing them as inviduals and keeping them apart. I'm just bad with faces. :alienblush: The way you're characterising them is great, Imho.
