I quickly tired of it I have to admit.
The hit detection is slightly off, the weapons are not only generally weak, but also have enough recoil on them to make you feel like you're shooting whilst in the middle of a fit, and the maps seen so far are so camper friendly it's untrue.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't worry, as this is just the beta and things could be fixed by the time the game hits the stands. Having said that though, concerns raised during CoD4's beta, none of them were addressed by the time it went live.
If you've got CoD4, don't bother, it's not got anything that adds real value over that, other than new maps, which just as easily could have been released as an expansion pack for Modern Warfare.
I beg to differ(26 hrs so far on the beta). The style of play is altered. One of the first things you hear Kiefer Sutherland yell out is, "Stick together and we can't lose!" You can't play the lone gunman routine like COD4 as easily but a well-coordinated team can waste any campers easily with a little planning. The guns are cruder-but its also set 60 years in the past. You have to lead targets because the gun accuracy is more or less authentic and your deviation from target is greater than COD4. If you keep that in mind, you can hit anything. I went 29-4 with a Gewehr last night and I never camped. As for the glitch-we discovered last night there is a second entrance. My, my, the other team was startled to see us!
The game will have 10 custom classes and from the looks of things, there are going to be specific weapon load-outs needed for specific maps, at least to some extent, so that will come in handy.
As for the bettys-I always thought it was cheesy that claymores had a laser tell-tale. Bettys don't, and a smart player can leave them in unexpected places to keep the other team out of their groove.
According to the web site there are going to be oodles of maps, and some of the perks I've heard about sound great-sunglasses to wear to avoid flare effects, anyone?
I talked to a developer from Tetryarch last night and they are putting as many as 40 servers up on Release Day so connection issues should go away. Right now, they are running 4 for the Beta.
One of the things that really appeals is the new 'Vehicle perks'. I can't wait to get Leadfoot. Deathrace 2000, anyone?
It's Friday the 24th right now. Tonight, or maybe tomorrow, the level cap is being raised again. I can't wait to see what new toys are coming available!

If you notice a (PB&J) clan tag I suggest you back out while you can.
