When I moved to my house in 1999, I had a tiny plant that was tucked in with some lilies in my garden on the north-east side and it was the size of three inches. It only got morning sun, and had afternoon and evening shade.
Last year, I transplanted it (late Fall, '08) from there to an isolated part of my garden to an open spot about only 5 feet from a my garage, that provided little to no shade. It hadn't grown until March of this year, when it started grew exponentially. It was about a two feet tall at the end of April, and right now, it's getting close to four feet. Anybody know what the devil this plant is? I've narrowed it down to the Genus Alcea, but I'm not absolutely sure.
Here's a picture I took of it: http://i41.tinypic.com/2z6zhvq.jpg
