Another way JJ slapped fans in the face...

He knew that making "Enterprise" the only previous show that still counts within canon.... Everything erased except the worst Star trek show of all time....

Whoa whoa whoa....

Voyager is the worst Trek of all time. C'mon now!

mmmm I'm up for some slapping!

"
Ugh, they all still exist, bla bla bla, been through this a million times already"

i disagree
you act as if they went to another dimension
no...this movie is the SAME dimension, they went back in time and changes important events

i imagine the other shows still happen, just slightly altered
its like in the ds9 ep little green men quark goes back and i think there is a picture of them in a history book (something along those lines) they went back in time, changed something, and it was still there when they went to the future

like when sisqo went back and acted as a historic figure, then his picture was in history books

same with this, if you were to go to the 24th century now, it'd be different.
So if I go to the 24th century and play a DVD of Generations, I will find that an old fat Chris Pine is the one who has a steel bridge fall on him?

Enterprise doesn't still count within Abramsverse Canon. Most of the story arcs in Enterprise were triggered by Future Guy communicating with Archer and the Temporal Cold War in the 29th century of whatever. If the timeline has been changed in Kirks time, then the temporal cold war will probably never happen and future guy will probably never be born. Hence no communication with Archer, and the Enterprise missions are completely different. The crew still exists, but theres no way the missions could be the same because the same future events that led to Future Guy communicating with Archer wont happen.

And apparently Vulcans accept time travel without saying anything about how impossible it is in this new universe :p

Amazing. Abrams and co. create a scenario by which all we have known before is still intact and yet some refuse to see it.
If you don't like the new movie, fine. But understand that if this hadn't happened, you would be relegated to reruns of Enterprise.

Hey Bad Robot! Thanks for the new movie. It was fun and refreshing. See you back in 2012? Hope so.

Who's to say that the Canon Trek we've had for the last 40 odd years came before the new canon of Abrams Trek? Perhaps the new canon is altered in the future causing the canon that we've known up to this point. Just because we've watched it first doesn't mean it came first and has been altered. Maybe the canon we've known is the (yet-to-be) altered canon? This would mean that the Spock Prime of the new movie is anything but and is in fact a Spock from a similar yet different timeline who comes back, alters his own timeline to the Abrams timeline which in time will be altered to create the 1966 onwards canon.

Does any of that make sense? I have a headache.

Dammit Sagart, I'm a trekkie not a temporal theoretician!
