Another sad local story..

that's so sad :( How terrible it must be for the husband to know his wife is dead and yet to see her body kept working by machines! That's something you wouldn't wish your worst enemy to go through.
I just hope the baby didn't suffer any brain damage when his mother had the hemorrhage. 22 weeks is past the critical age for brain development problems but there's still a certain risk that the little one might have suffered oxigen deprivation before his mother was brought to hospital. I keep my fingers, toes and eyes crossed that everything goes well for the baby in the remaining weeks till his scheduled birth and after that.

It's a good thing the father gets so much help and emotional backup from his surroundings. I think for the next years he'll need every hug and thumbsup (and lasagna ;) ) he can get.
(And I hope the nice taxi chauffeur gets a lot of new customers!)

Dear friends and family,

It is with a heavy heart but also with extreme proudness that I am posting this update...

On Saturday evening, my beautiful and amazing son, Iver Cohen Benson, was born. Iver is healthy and is the cutest and most precious person I have ever met. As to be expected, it will still be a bumpy ride for he and I as he continues to grow under the care of the wonderful staff at the hospital.

On Sunday, we had to unfortunately say goodbye to the strongest and most wonderful woman I have ever met. I miss Robyn more than words can explain. I could not be more impressed with her strength, and I am so lucky to have known her. She will live on forever within Iver, and in my heart.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your love, your kind words, and your support during this incredibly difficult time.

Oh dear! 5 weeks sooner than the doctors had hoped :(
For the baby the struggle has just started. The next months will be pretty hard on him (I was a premie myself and can relate how difficult it must be at only 29 weeks). But little Iver seems to be a strong boy and quite tall for his age :)
The father sounds like an absolutely adorable guy! I wish the both of them all the best.
*keeps fingers crossed*
