Another new version of the trailer?

Vektor

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
So I went to see Monsters vs. Aliens this afternoon and they showed what initially appeared to be Star Trek trailer #1, but as it progressed I realized the sequence was different and then they threw in some new footage I hadn't seen before. Kirk was running around in a room with a bunch of big, fluid-filled tubes and what looked like a person getting flushed through them while Kirk chased after him yelling "No, no, no!" This version also had the clip with Uhura saying, "I hope you know what you're doing," and Kirk replying, "So do I." It ended with Scotty's "I like this ship, it's exciting!" line.

Anybody else see this one?

Never mind all that...

How was MvsA?????

:)

It was a blast. Me and my Dad always go to see these types of movies. I'm 38 and he's 74 and we probably look like a couple of weirdos laughing our butts off surrounded by grade schoolers, but neither of us cares.

The visuals in this one were just phenomenal and it's definitely one to see in 3D if you can.

Saw Knowing.

The same trailer 3 as we've all seen, but with the alternate "I hope you know what you're doing" "So do I" lines + a few other small details.

What was strange though, was that instead of the Iron Man-type font for the main title, they used the STAR TREK logo from the Superbowl ad.

Anyway great to see it on the big screen.

This one was a lot closer to trailer 1 than trailer 3. In fact, I don't think it had any of the added footage from trailer 3. Everything in it that was new is stuff I haven't seen anywhere before.

Edit - Actually, I take that back; I think some of the stuff that differed from trailer 1 was also used in the newest TV spot, like the bit with Kirk dangling from the edge of the drilling platform and, I think, Sulu's backflip. Still, the scene with these fluid-filled tubes and whoever--or whatever--was inside them was something I haven't even heard rumors of. I'm guessing it was something aboard the Narada but I'm really not sure.

:) Great...

Going to go on Sunday. Can't Wait

On a related note, our local theater just put up one of those ginormous cardboard displays with the faces of the characters framed in the letters of the Star Trek title. It's against the wall in one of the side corridors, probably the only place it would fit!

How can it be similar to trailer 1, trailer 1 was the Enterprise under construction.

I believe that's the trailer they released in the UK.

Sorry, I was actually referring to trailer #2. I tend to think of the one with the ship under construction as a teaser, not a trailer.

Nope it's not

Well, there were plenty of adults in the theater when I saw it, quite possibly among that demographic that never get to see movies without their kids. Now they get to see a Star Trek trailer on the big screen, too, without having to deal with any questions like, "Daddy, why was that woman taking her shirt off?"

Kid: Daddy, why was that woman taking her shirt off?

Dad: Well, little Johnny, let me put it to you this way...

Uhura's got a squeeze box she wears on her chest,
When she rips off her shirt, the crew don't get no rest,
Cause she play's it all night...
And the music's alright...
Uhura's got a squeeze box, and Kirk never sleeps at night...

Kid: Oh...

I hope this gets online somehow. Very smart move on Paramount's part to get a trailer in front of what's likely to be the biggest money maker so far this year.
