The Basingstoke Gazette has run a report on a group of local schoolkids whose 3-minute mini-episode of Doctor Who won the BBC's Script to Screen contest. The story actually ran back on July 26 but folks are just noticing it now:

Basic facts of note:
The episode has already been filmed with Matt Smith (presumably earlier in the month around the time Series 6 filming ended unless they brought Matt back to Cardiff for the occasion later).
It was chosen by Steven Moffat.
And it will air this fall (since it's a mini-episode written by a bunch of kids who attended the filming - which no doubt was recorded by DW Confidential - I think it's a no-brainer that this will air during Children in Need, though this has yet to be confirmed, of course).
This might be kind of cool. 3 minutes isn't a lot of time, but Steven Moffat showed with the Comic Relief mini-episodes that you can get a lot done in 3 minutes.
