From Ian Levines Facebook page:

"Talk about so near yet so far. We have now found five more Doctor Who episodes in Taiwan, including The Enemy Of The World 6. If only I found them sooner. If only I had found them pre-October 11th. DAMN !!!!!!! The other four episodes are The Ambassadors Of Death episodes 1 and 3, The Keys Of Marinus 6, and finally The Krotons 3. Having found ten in total, the odds were in favour of some being missing ones. it is simply INCREDIBLY BAD LUCK that they weren't."

You wait 45 years for a bus and suddenly two show up...

He makes it sound so tragic that he wasn't the one who found them first. Well, boohoo. The fact that they were found at all is good news. And the fact that they were found sooner rather than later is even better. He just wants the "glory".

Although, any chance that the newly recovered Ambassadors episodes can improve the color situation? Although, I think it was the later episodes in that story where the quality got poor, but not sure.

Ambassadors 1 exists on its original 2" quad tape.

Ambassadors 3 was recovered using chroma dot technology. Given the apparent state of the Taiwan batch (edited, moldy, bad splices) the existing version is superior.

And yes, Ian would love to find something and claim glory.

That's just classic Levine, I suspect he's not the ogre he often comes across as (or at least the only difference between him and a lot of us is when he does his "What the show should be like" fan fic he can afford to film it with the original actors) he's so... enthusiastic for want of a better word he never seems to properly think through how what comes out of his mouth might sound.

That's interesting tho, adds weight to the hopes of there being film copies handed over to the navy by bbc enterprises...

Given they found all six episodes of The Sea Devils in the Ascension islands in the eighties it would be great if they found more.

Well, there's a longstanding theory that the high number of odd episodes found at filmfairs, etc, in the south east during the 1980s is down to them coming from stocks held at the south coast naval bases, given to the navy as surplus copies by Enterprises for screening at onboard film nights, but which became redundant in turn when the navy switched over to using VHS video recorders instead of actual film prints. It could be that some of the film cans got dumped at navy bases overseas and are still out there.
