Annoying Computer Issue

Hi, all... I am hoping someone can help me with an annoying computer issue I have.

I do not know if this is a problem with Firefox or Windows XP, but whenever I try to type a word with an apostrophe, slash or other type of hyphenation, a ROYALLY annoying little window pops up on the bottom of my screen, called "Quick Find", and prevents me from typing the hyphenated word(s). This REALLY angers me, because I have to then write all my BSG Urantia posts in WordPad, rather than directly in this forum.

So is there ANY way to disable this stupid-arse quick find feature? If anyone can help me, I greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

In Firefox

Tools >>> Options >>> Advanced >>> General Tab >>> Accessibility section >>> uncheck "search for text when I start typing."

Also, what version are you using? Earlier versions had that problem regardless if that box was checked or not. I remember that quite well and it was infuriating, but that was sometime in the version 2 pedigree, IIRC. Should have been fixed by v3 and above.

Yeah, I remember that. It would reactivate itself. I haven't had that issue since the late 2.x series though.
