Anne Francis has passed away

Well, that's a coincidence. Not two minutes ago, I was looking at the Honey West DVD set on Amazon.

I always liked her. Too bad.

This is probably a case of TMI, but... She was the very first woman I ever fantasized about. Terribly sad to think she's gone.

Sad news. I just purchased Forbidden Planet on ebay the other day and I expect it in the mail soon. I will watch it in remembrance of her.

And let's not forget, she was also immortalized in the lyrics of the Rocky Horror Picture Show:

"Anne Francis stars in Forbidden Planet,
"On the late-night, double feature picture show . . ."

So sad to hear this. As it happens, Forbidden Planet was on TCM last night. And her Twilight Zone episode was on during the New Year's marathon.

Oh, no. :( I loved Anne Francis as Altaira in Forbidden Planet. I'll never forget seeing that for the first time when I was about 8 years old; she was so sweet and innocent, and so powerful and sexy. She played a huge part in defining for me what a woman should be. And, of course, she played the classic role of the Mannequin in Twilight Zone and the classic character Honey West in the TV adaptation. I just bought those DVDs a couple of months ago.

Anne Francis was pure Americana. I hope she's never forgotten.

RIP. :(

"Honey West", America's answer to Emma Peel.

I bought the DVDs a year or so ago and loved them, as have those I've lent them to. A dramatic story in a half an hour, who would have thunk it!

Good Night "Honey".

At the risk of throwing a plug into a tribute thread, people might be interested to know that Moonstone is currently publishing a HONEY WEST comic book series. (Full disclosure: I know one of the artists.)

Alas, I have no memories of the original tv series, although it sounds like it would have been right up my alley. I'm going to have to track down those DVDs one of these days.

RIP, Anne Francis. I always liked her, from Forbidden Planet and the two episodes of The Twilight Zone she did.

Do eeet. It's a fun show. And Anne is exquisite.

I intend to, as soon as I finish paying off my Christmas purchases. And I agree that it's a fun show, I've seen a few episodes, but not the whole thing. Until then, I'll have to watch my Forbidden Planet DVD again. It's been a while.

Amazon's got 'em cheap. As Forbin pointed out, it's a fun show. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of it.
