What do you think? Has Ann Coulter final gone off the deep end? Or was she never on it to begin with? Her recent column on soccer sounds like a spoof: "Any growing interest in soccer can only be a sign of the nation's moral decay." http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2014-06-25.html#read_more
She could've pointed out that the US Portugal match got 18.2 million viewers, of whom 22 million were illegal immigrants.
It's going to be our fault I don't even know who this woman is. Well, I didn't know, I read her wiki article. Massive stupidity has an entertainment value
Amidst all the mindbogglingly stupidity, political agenda, rampant xenophobia, vague sexism, and purposeful disinformation, this one wins the prize for me: Sure, no scorers, no winners, no fumblers, no loser in association football. Of course not!
I like her. We should invite her to join TBBS. We could throw a party with some classic French cuisine, served up by a sneering waiter with a pencil thin moustache and a Gauloise expertly dangling from the lower lip.
The woman is batshit crazy. I saw the article the other day and loved how absolutely ridiculous it was. Unfortunately, she's pretty famous and I'm sure she has more than enough followers believing every word she says.
I adore Ann for her ability to go off on a beautiful rant, but don't take her that seriously because she has mastered the art of the rant. We all do that, and enjoy it, and if taken to the next level its a work of art, comedy, or drama. Think of George Carlin's famous comparison of baseball and football, provided here for your convenience. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmXacL0Uny0[/yt]
This piece is a typical Ann Coulter "look at me look at me" hit piece. She did almost zero research on the subject, instead choosing to throw in random anecdotes and broad stereotypes into her patented blend of complaining and alarmist conservative tropes. She is a very well paid Troll.
Basically yes. She feeds into some individuals desire to have a woman tell them that they are right and everyone else is wrong. Her defense of Senator Joe McCarthy is quite interesting to read.
First: it's Football. Why? I'll tell you. Football was invented in 1848, the Football Association was founded in 1863. In 1869 (that is six years later) the very first version of "American" football (which was played according to the rules of the original football still) was played in a match between Rutgers and Princeton. And only in 1874 (another 5 years later), it became American/Canadian football when the Haward university team played against a Rugby team using mixed rules. The name "American Football" alone denotes this as a derivative of "Original Football". The very name says "It's another, American version of football." Hence, it is not soccer, it is FOOTBALL. Second: see First.
