What space battle did you prefer? The big battle at the end of The Way of The Warrior? Or the big battle at the end of Sacrifice of Angels?

I go back-and-forth on it to be honest..

Angels got my vote. In the end it was more exciting and visually breath taking than the battle in WOTW. Of course you left out my all time favorite battle from WYLB when the Cardies switch sides. That particular scene in the battle never fails to give me goose bumps.

Heh... Looks like it's gonna be a landslide in favor of Angels. And I agree.

Whenever I think about that episode, I remember the scene when the Federation fleet began its stab into the Dominion line, and those two Galaxy class ships took shots at the leading Cardassian Galor class.

Too awesome.

Angels was a cluttered, jumbled mess.

And that's why I love it so. The mess was intentional, since the Dominion were jamming communications. Starfleet tried to maintain battle tactics as much as possible (ie, the two Mirandas flanking the Defiant), but it soon degraded to a free-for-all. If that's not desperation, I dunno what is.

What really clinches it for me is the end. Not that the Klingons saved the day (though that's truly a great moment), but also that soon after, we find out that 200 Allied ships were heading to DS9. The free-for-all was indeed a success for Starfleet.

Way of the Warrior, though, I can see why some would prefer that battle. It was, really, the first time we saw Federation weapon systems act and go all out in a way long-time Trekkies had waited for since the E-D fired its first torpedo spread.

Way of the Warrior is a quick fix.
Sacrifice of Angel, satisfies long term.

1,254 was the size of the Dominion fleet if I recall correctly. It was said that the Federation fleet was outnumbered 2-to-1. So figure 600, add a few hundred (maybe) for the Klingons...

As you mentioned, 200 Federation/Klingon ships had made it through shortly before the Dominion fleet was ordered to fall back. What I've always wondered is how many didn't make it through.

That scene and the destructions of the Sitak and Majestic were fantastic and Make this battle stand out. In WotW, the Klingon ships really just seemed to pop and be gone.
