Anachronic mistake

I'm not talking of canon, just cinematics.

Am I crazy or when Kirk jumps platform on the Nerada we see the guard's gun on the floor in the same position as it gets after Kirk gets it from the guard's belt?

That's not an anachronism (which would be something out of time.)

That's a contnuity error. (In the film-making sense.)

There is more than one contnuity error in the film, trick is finding them all. :)

You guys want to hear something weird?

The 1st time I saw the movie, I saw the gun. But I thought Kirk had grabbed it from the ground.

The 2nd time I saw it, I noticed he grabbed it from the guy's belt so I thought it was a continuity error

Now I just saw it again today... and I didn't see the gun on the ground any more. Do you think they somehow fixed it on some prints or something? Maybe I just missed it but I WAS looking for it this time...

Yeah. Within a few days they recalled 3000-some prints of the film, fixed one tiny, random, contnuity error, reprinted those 3000-some prints and then reshipped out the movie.

It sent their budget up another $5m but it was worth it because now (production) contnuity pickers have one less thing to nit on.

I would lay off the Romulan Ale if I were you... ;)

I know it's easier to lob off a quick, unfunny sarcastic reply but I'm serious. I don't think they recalled any prints at all. I just wondered if there could be different versions depending on whether it was IMAX, film or digital. It seems unlikely, but I've seen the film in three different "prints" now and this was the first non-IMAX digital print I saw. I could be totally wrong, but as I said I was actually looking for it this time and didn't see it.

One error was when the captain of the kelvin enters the turbo lift near the bridge, yet the lift is seen going down in the engineering section when it should be going up
