News 'An Obol for Charon' Promo Pictures Released

StarTrek.com has released this week's promo photos for 2x04, including a very interesting tidbit about a character's job, if the caption is accurate!

 

Yay on that interesting tidbit (if accurate.)

Also, Romijn is gonna crush it, methinks!

As I noted above, yes. However, generally people try to get these things right, and I see they're using the title elsewhere on StarTrek.com. So I'm cautiously hopeful.

 

It looks like (just going by those images) we still have the brooding, aimless Stamets. I wish he'd get his spark back permanently. We've seen some signs of that spark, but then he seems to go back into his hole.

 

I agree and am hopeful. But playing devil's advocate, it could be argued that

she is "a" chief engineer in Starfleet (i.e., and Engineer and a Chief)

but not

"the" chief engineer of Discovery

Her pad looks very TOS! Also appears to have a slot on top for data cards.



TrekCore has some higher res and higher quality versions of the images for those interested.

 

She could also end up as a red shirt when a plasma conduit explodes. The show is due to start losing people.

We lost Lorca like six episodes ago. And of course... Connolly.

 

I was talking more about characters we are attached to.

 

Fair enough.

I like this character. But I don't necessarily feel attached to her and she's too new to kill off. I think we might lose Tyler by season's end though.

 

...and the anxious, anguished Burnham.

 

The title is an interesting reference to mythology. Sounds kind of TOS-ish.
