An idea for Supernatural Season Six

SEASON SIX: After Lucifer's defeat, Sam and Dean try to use this as an opportunity to finally relax after five years of tragedy and hardship. But their hope for a less tumultuous future is crushed when the wall between the moral world and the afterlife starts to break down allowing a growing number of departed souls to cross over and roam among the living. With the world becoming increasingly plagued by ghostly disturbances, Sam and Dean are enlisted to track down the escaped souls and keep them from causing havoc while efforts are being made to restore the wall between the moral world and the afterlife. Some of the departed souls are bent on finishing unfinished business they left behind when they died and were unable to do when being pulled into the afterlife. And forming on the horizon is a faction of departed souls who refuse to return to the afterlife altogether and want to reign over the living permanently. Over the course of the season, Sam and Dean encounter the souls of familiar faces from the past.

What do you think?

Only if Ghost Whisperer girl (dunno' her name) is cast as a über fiend who wants to talk to the undead bastards and is revealed as a psychotic necromancer would this work...
Would love to see Ghostgirl' trying teary eyed to convince some undead creature to go into the light, and in enters Dean with shotgun full of rocksalt...BLAMMO!

That would be great fun :)

Not bad, not bad. The caveat would be that the show would have to be able to secure all the departed souls' portrayers as guest stars. It was tricky enough to get Adrienne Palicki back and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is forever busy, though he gets along famously with the two J's. That was too hilarious when Padalecki scared security at Morgan's premiere by running over to give him a bear hug and tackling him. Traci Dinwiddie would be game as Pamela, I'm sure. Who else? Unfortunately Nicki Aycox is a regular on deep blue, so the real Meg Masters couldn't be involved. Maybe Charles Malik Whitfield as Henricksen? You'd have to get Lindsey McKeon involved as Tessa.

I think one of the brothers will be killed at the end of the season, so then that's one more familiar face to return. :)

They've already killed them both. That would be a little redundant. God's going to order Castiel to resurrect them again? Plus, Dean driving around with his dead brother might be a tad depressing to the fanbase.

Perhaps, but why should 'Armageddon' only take one TV season? Consider how B5 dramatically suffered when it went from the Shadow War (a thing that had been building for eons) to dealing with the annoyances of Byron in season five.

It can be anticlimactic to step down from something as big. Not sure how Lucifer will shape up, but if he is a good villain for the show, why toss him and the story line after only one season?

Because they have a master plan and one season is enough to end the master plan. Plus you can never trust The CW to do the right thing.

Except this is pretty much what happened when the portal to Hell was opened at the end of Season 2.....

With the ratings the CW is getting across the board, I'm not sure anything is going to get a new season. Not that it's unexpected, but Smallville premiered to 2.5 million and a 1.0 in 18-49.
