American Idol Season 10 (Finale)

So how many years has it been since there was an American Idol thread on the BBS? Like many former viewers, I sorta lost interest these past few years. Nowadays, I just watch the auditions and then tune in to the finale, depending on how boring the contestants are.

It's only a matter of minutes before the winner is announced out here on the West Coast, but thanks to the Internet, I already know who the winner is. Damned spoilers. :(

I can't say I'm disappointed or even surprised; when I first watched this person all those weeks ago, I saw the potential and talent that person had. Congratulations!

I didn't watch AI at all this year, not even the auditions, as the lack of Simon, well, makes the whole process pointless to me.

But I was visiting my parents last night and this was playing in the other room as my mom and I played cards and I overheard parts of the episode, I liked what's-his-name's performance with Jack Black/Tenacious D (I ran in there to watch) and the Tom Jones tribute was aces.

It was a pretty weak finale, what with the double dose of country and all. I guess it's better than two rappers...

The result wasn't any surprise, was pretty obvious that Scott was going to win for anyone who paid attention this season. He could've gone on stage and taken a dump and still have won. Even though she would've lost 2-1 in voting as well, I would've much rather seen Haley perform. She at least has an interesting quality to her voice, unlike the incredibly bland Lauren.

Lowlight of the finale results show was the remnants of TLC shambling about on stage. Left Eye is long gone people... I guess TC isn't very catchy... at least the chick on the right had the good sense to stay in shape.

American Idol is one of those shows I'm glad I download onto my PC so I can quickly flip through the episodes. Deluded people with horrible voice in the auditions never get old, but once you get to the voting stages you can easily compress an hour's worth of Idol into about 4 minutes.

Yeah man... Steve Tyler had beautiful critiques and he said them beautifully... it was beautiful.
