Amazing Spider-Man: One More Day

I think that with the Ultimmate titles, Civil War, OMD, and every Mutant reboot "event" (e.g. House Of M), Marvel has barely addressed the 600 pound gorilla that has been sitting in the corner of the room for more than 15 years: The likelyhood of a crisis style event to reboot the 616 universe.

Let's face it. Whether we believe it or not, the 616 universe is broken beyond repair. It's dreary, cynical, with no real heroes to cheer for. And the Ultimates (with the exception of Ultimate Spider-Man) is a vain attempt to put a Watchman-type deconstructionist "realistic" spin on the Marvel U. Most of it came off as pretty rediculous (an inscestuous Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver??). Marvel likes to boast about not having to reboot their universe as DC has, but yet they have the Ultimate titles and "events" like House Of M and OMD which are mini reboots. They should just bite the bullet and and just reboot the Marvel universe and mesh the good points of both the 616 and Ultimate universe together. Older fans may hate it, but just like with JJ Abram's Star Trek, TPTB should start looking out for the future and not be concerned with an aging and shrinking older fanbase (That includes myself).
